Miley Cyrus has been confirmed to star in the movie adaptation of the popular teen fantasy Wings by Aprilynne Pike. The book is about a 15-year-old girl who discovers that she's a fairy sent as a baby to her adoptive family to protect the land they live on.

The book has been favorably compared to the Twilight series, and has been praised by Twilight author Stephenie Meyer herself as a "remarkable debut." It's the first in a series of four, the other three of which have yet to be completed. The sequel to Wings is tentatively titled Spells and is currently set to be released on June 8, 2010.
